NH&RA joined with 120 national and state affordable housing organizations in a letter to Senate leadership, urging the Senate to enact the LIHTC provisions included in the legislation – increasing the Housing Credit state allocation and reducing the amount of private activity bond financing required to access four percent credits.

State of play: The Senate did not recess as planned last Friday, but instead worked through the weekend and the early half of this week to finish negotiations on the package coming – U.S. Border funding with aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Once finished, the Senate will recess through February 26 and likely turn to FY 2025 funding as funding for parts of the government runs out on March 1 and 8. The appropriations bills offer a potential vehicle to attach to the tax package. Continue contacting your Senators to urge them to quickly pass the tax bill.
