Members of NH&RA’s HOPE VI Council had a productive meeting with key officials of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at the Association’s recent Spring Policy Forum, May 20-21 in Washington, DC. The group presented case studies on specific HOPE VI projects and the financial challenges they are facing, and on how the Administration’s proposed Transforming Rental Assistance (TRA) initiative might be one possible solution. There was also discussion of the new “pre-notice” for the Administration’s proposed Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI) program.
The HOPE VI Council will convene on July 24 during NH&RA’s 2010 Summer Institute in Dana Point, California.
