California HCD releases Multifamily Housing Program Draft Guidelines for comment

The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) released its draft Multifamily Housing Program (MHP) Guidelines. Recent legislation authorized the issuance of $1.5 billion in bonds through the MHP for new construction, rehabilitation and preservation of veterans and affordable housing.

HCD is accepting public comments on the draft guidelines from Jan. 11 through Feb. 11, 2019 via email. HCD is also hosting several workshops on the draft guidelines to allow interested parties to provide input and comments prior to the adoption of the final program guidelines and Notice of Funding Availability, which is anticipated in early April 2019. The workshops will be held on:
