Child Tax Credit Training Webinar

We invite you and your colleagues to join NH&RA for a special training webinar for property managers and resident service coordinators on Enrolling Residents for the Child Tax Credit on September 24 at 1:30 p.m. E.T.

The Context: Last week, federal emergency unemployment relief benefits expired, and the federal eviction moratorium was struck down by the Supreme Court earlier this month. Deployment of emergency rental assistance funds lag in many jurisdictions around the country.

Why It’s Important: The American Rescue Plan recently expanded Child Tax Credit (CTC) to make monthly payments to parents and caregivers, representing a significant source of supplemental income (up to $300 per month per child) for low-income families. Unfortunately, a disproportionate number of low- and very-low-income families are not receiving this lifeline because they do not normally file income taxes and have not provided their information to the IRS.

Call To Action: Urge your colleagues, vendors, and partners in property management and resident services to sign up for this complimentary training session with key leaders from the White House, Treasury Department, and HUD on how they can help those in your apartment communities use the new Non-Filer Portal to enroll. At the end of the webinar, there will be a Q&A with Treasury and White House staff.
