HUD has issued a notices announcing that the mortgage insurance premiums for FHA’s Multifamily, Health Care Facilities and Hospital mortgage insurance programs that have commitments to be issued or reissued in FY-15 will remain the same as in FY-14.  Multifamily programs covered by the notice include:

Fiscal 2014 Appropriations Compromise Presents Winners & Losers

A recently released bipartisan spending measure funds U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs at $45.46 billion, increasing funding for certain programs such as the Project-Based Rental Assistance and Tenant Based Rental Assistance programs over FY 2013 post-sequestration levels, but dramatically altering the landscape for others, in particular the Rental Housing Demonstration (RAD) program.

HUD Previews New Energy Efficiency Incentives for Affordable Housing Owners

On December 3, 2013 HUD previewed to NH&RA a series of new incentives and policy flexibility for owners of multifamily affordable housing properties that commit to making portfolio wide energy efficiency commitments through the Administration’s Better Buildings Challenge. HUD has developed these incentives to address the market and policy barriers that owners experience in greening their properties. The underlying policy will be issued in a separate and forthcoming Implementation Memo, to be released in FY-2014.
