Woda Cooper Companies Celebrates Grand Opening in Hopewell, VA

A grand opening celebration was held Tuesday, December 3, at Freedman Point, 311 E. Cawson Street, Hopewell, VA, to mark the opening of the new 68-unit affordable apartments within a mixed-use community. The $14.4 million community was developed by Woda Cooper Companies, Inc., Columbus, OH. Co-developer is Bay Aging,  Urbanna, VA. In addition to two- and three-bedroom apartments, the new property also brings a large commercial space to be developed for retail businesses or professional offices. This will complement many other nearby retail businesses, restaurants, service outlets, and community amenities including the adjacent Appomattox Regional Library.

Woda Cooper Companies Opens Senior Development in Atlanta

Woda Cooper Companies recently celebrated the ribbon cutting of its new 91-unit senior community on Atlanta’s BeltLine. Adair Court was made possible through the allocation of LIHTCs from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, as well as support from the City of Atlanta, Invest Atlanta and Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. Bank of America Merrill Lynch was investor and provided the construction loan. Summit Community Bank contributed permanent loan.

Three Developers Selected to Participate in Indiana’s Moving Forward Rural Development Program

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) announced that Biggs Development, Justice Property Management & Greystone Affordable Development and Woda Cooper Companies were selected to participate in the Moving Forward Rural Development (RD) Program. Woda Partners with Veterans Organization to Develop Supportive Housing

A new partnership between Woda Cooper Companies, Inc. (Woda Cooper) and Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation of Indiana (HVAF) was selected as one of six teams to participate in the 2019 Indiana Supportive Housing Institute.

Woda Cooper and HVAF are in the early planning stages for a new affordable housing community in Indianapolis, with 25 percent of units set aside as supportive housing for veterans. HVAF’s partnership with Woda Cooper marks the first time HVAF will develop permanent supportive housing.
