The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Department of Community Affairs has published a study called, Affordability and Availability of Rental Housing in Pennsylvania, which assesses the housing needs of Pennsylvania’s low-income renter households and describes how their needs vary across the state. The report compares housing problems experienced by Pennsylvania’s low-income renters throughout the past decade, and addresses shortages in the number of low-income rental units during the same time period. The study utilized Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy data from the 2000 Census, and similar tabulations from the 2005 and 2006 American Community Survey. Read More…
