Earlier this month, U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi urging them to complete Senate-House negotiations of H.R. 4213, the American Workers, State, and Business Relief Act of 2010, also referred to as the tax credit extenders package. The letter urges the officials to make the critical package of tax cuts and other job creation measures the first legislative priority when Congress reconvenes this month. The Senate-passed version of the bill includes an extension of the New Markets Tax Credit program and makes Gulf Opportunity Zone and Midwestern Disaster Credits eligible for the low-income housing tax credit exchange program.
