Indiana Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman recently announced that Sherry Seiwert is departing the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) to become President of Indianapolis Downtown, Inc. Sherry has been serving as the Executive Director of the IHCDA since her appointment by Governor Daniels in early 2005. Beginning July 28th Jacob Sipe will be assuming the role of IHCDA Interim Executive Director. Jake will still continue his duties as the Chief Real Estate Development Officer and Director of Production. Mark Young who currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer and Deputy Director will also be leaving IHCDA.

Under Sherry and Mark’s leadership, IHCDA underwent several operational and programmatic changes improving the agency’s efficiency while creating a service-oriented environment. Highlights include the administration of $1 billion in stimulus funding which created over 12,000 additional units of affordable housing options and providing rapid re-housing assistance to nearly 3,000 residents who were either at imminent risk of or experiencing homelessness.
