Indiana Enacts State LIHTC

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb (R) signed into law an omnibus tax law that creates a State LIHTC for fiscal years after June 30, 2023. S.B. 382 creates an Indiana LIHTC available to recipients of Federal four percent LIHTCs that can be taken over five years and carried forward up to nine years. The Indiana credit will be for up to 100 percent of the federal credits issued to the property.

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority announced it will accept applications from renters in all 92 counties for the Indiana Supreme Court’s Eviction Diversion Program, which is an additional tool to promote housing stability across the state.

Merchants Capital Raises $2.7 Million Support Neighborhood Housing  

Merchants Capital said its real estate equity team, in partnership with First Merchants Bank, The National Bank of Indianapolis and Merchants Bank of Indiana, reached the closing of Indiana Social Impact Housing Equity Fund II, LP. The Fund targets large-scale revitalization of vacant single-family homes in traditionally disinvested neighborhoods in and around downtown Indianapolis.

Woda Cooper Hosts Groundbreaking in Indianapolis

Co-developers HVAF of Indiana and Woda Cooper Companies, Inc. announced they hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking at Proctor Place for the new 61-unit, high-quality affordable housing community supported with housing tax credits allocated by the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA), with 15 units set aside for homeless veterans. The $12.6 million Proctor Place is being constructed at 240 N. Warman Ave. on the Central Greens campus, just west of downtown Indianapolis, Woda said.

Indiana Adds $15 Million to COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program, Moratoriums to Expire Aug. 14

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb (R) recently announced that the state will allocate an additional $15 million to the COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program. Governor Holcomb also announced that he intends to allow the rental property eviction and foreclosure moratorium and ban on disconnecting utility services to expire on August 14.

Indiana Offers COVID-19 Rental Assistance

On July 13 at 9:00 am CT the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) began accepting applications through the Rental Assistance Portal. The portal connects Hoosiers to a variety of rental assistance programs administered by IHCDA.
