Ben Metcalf, the current Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) of HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing recently announced that Margaret Salazar has been selected as the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary where she will lead the Office of Affordable Housing Preservation (OAHP). Salazar has been acting Director of OAHP for the past twelve months and in that time, she has improved the Office’s performance on Mark-to-Market and Assumption/Subordination executions, and began implementing various high profile new initiatives, including the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) and the Senior Preservation Rental Assistance Contracts (SPRAC).
Ms. Salazar will participate in NH&RA&’s Fall Developers Forum, which is taking place November 13-14 in Boston, MA, on a panel that will cover the intricacies of porting rental assistance to new properties and various opportunities available to developers for project-basing vouchers.
