The Notice, published August 23, 2017, in the Federal Register, addresses the increase in the number of public housing units that may be awarded under the Rental Assistant Demonstration (RAD).
PHAs which have previously submitted a Letter of Interest (LOI) are now eligible and have 60 days to submit a RAD application for the units specified in their LOIs.
The notice comes after the 2017 Appropriations Act increased the unit cap within the RAD statute from 185,000 units to 225,000 units.
The Senate has yet to take up the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act (H.R. 7024), which passed the House in January and contains two critical LIHTC provisions.
