The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) published a NOFA for a Special Purpose Round of the Greater Opportunity for Affordable Living (GOAL) program. Under this NOFA, AHFC will make grants, zero-interest loans, LIHTCs and sponsor-based rental assistance available for competitive allocation. To apply for GOAL program funds, all applicants are required to submit a pre-application to AHFC by 4:30 p.m. AKT on July 22 through an online application system. Successful pre-applicants may compete to fund projects under the following special purposes:

  • New construction and acquisition/rehabilitation of housing in “small communities” as defined in the GOAL Qualified Allocation Plan;
  • New construction of permanent supportive housing or housing for persons with disabilities statewide;
  • Acquisition and/or Rehabilitation of existing affordable housing statewide; or

Small projects (ten units or fewer) statewide, including new construction, acquisition and/or rehabilitation.
