Missouri Hosts FY2020 Action Plan Mitigation Public Hearings
Missouri will conduct a series of public hearings on its Draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Annual Action Plan, which governs the state’s allocation of the following HUD funds: Community Development Block Grant, HOME Program, Emergency Solutions Grant Program, Housing Trust Fund, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS and Continuum of Care. The 30-day public comment period on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 Draft Action Plan begins January 15, 2020 and ends at noon CT on February 14, 2020.
Missouri Hosts CDBG Mitigation Public Hearings
Missouri will host a series of public hearings on its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) – Mitigation plan, which will guide how the state spends $41 million specifically designated for mitigation. These funds will be used to implement projects at the local level that strengthen infrastructure and reduce future losses in areas that have experienced repetitive flooding as a result of the 2017 storms.
HUD Publishes Puerto Rico’s CDBG-MIT Notice
HUD recently published a Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) notice for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, which allocates $8.285 billion. The notice lists out guidelines for the CDBG-MIT program specific to Puerto Rico, which will enable them to develop and submit for approval their plans and ultimately receive their allocated mitigation funds.
Texas to Amend 2020 QAP to Waive Feasibility Reports for Rehabilitation
At the January 16 board meeting, TDHCA Executive Director Bobby Wilkinson shared with the Board and the public that staff will be bringing an action item for Board consideration at its meeting scheduled for February 20, 2020, that will propose a waiver of the concerning provision. The item in February will propose that 10 TAC Sec. 11.204(15), relating to Feasibility Reports, be waived, and therefore not required, for each submitted 2020 Rehabilitation Application.
California Hosts 2020 LIHTC Workshops
The California Tax Credit Allocation Committee (TCAC) will host four application training workshops on 2020 submissions to the California LIHTC Program.
Connecticut Announces Masouda Omar as New Managing Director of Multifamily Housing Development
Masouda Omar will begin as Managing Director of Connecticut Housing Finance Authority’s Multifamily Department on February 21. During her more than 20 years at Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, Omar worked in economic development, community development, asset management and program compliance.
Massachusetts DHCD Increases Admin Fee for State Rental Assistance Programs
On December 20, the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) announced an increase of the administrative fee for all state funded voucher programs from $40 to $50 per voucher, effective February 1, 2020. Minnesota Seeks Feedback on QAP by February 24, Hosts QAP Sessions
