Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe last week signed into law the Arkansas Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit Bill. The bill is designed to leverage private investment in historic properties in both urban and rural areas of Arkansas by establishing an incentive in the form of a tax credit for property owners to rehabilitate historic buildings. The House bill was sponsored by Rep. Robert Moore and passed by a vote of 97-1. An identical Senate version was introduced by Sen. Danny Altes and passed by a 32-0 vote.
