The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority has released a memorandum dated May 4 that describes administrative changes that will be made to its 2009 low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) program. In subsequent 2009 funding rounds, WHEDA will require a tax credit equity letter of intent and 2.5% fee, rather than the usual 5%, 60 days from Reservation Date. Furthermore, WHEDA will limit its 2009 LIHTC program to three funding rounds, instead of four rounds as originally contemplated. There is sufficient demand to award all remaining Credit and therefore, a fourth funding round would serve no public purpose.  read more…
