The Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) is seeking submissions from individuals who wish to be included on its Experienced LIHTC Developer list. This list is used during the LIHTC application review process to help determine point allocations in the Developer Experience category. As defined by the Virginia QAP, an experienced developer is considered a “Principal [who has] developed, as controlling general partner or managing member” and can provide documentation for serving in this role for a minimum of 6 LIHTC developments.

Individuals interested in being included in this list must provide verification that he/she is the “named” Controlling General Partner or “Managing Member” (via a Partnership/Operating Agreement) of the development entity. LHAs, non-profits and widely-held corporations may also submit documentation in order to be included on the list; however, these entities do not meet the definition of a “developer” and will be displayed by firm name rather than by individual name. To be included on the list, individuals must submit 8609s for 6 LIHTC developments and the corresponding Partnership/LLC documents that name the Controlling General Partner/Managing Member. VHDA must receive documentation no later than the application deadline of March 15, 2013.

Those who are included on the Experience LIHTC Developer list do not need to submit copies of 8609s in the application in order to be considered for points in the Developer Experience category.

For questions on the list or to submit your information, please contact Jaynell Pittman-Shaw at jaynell.pittman-shaw@vhda.com or 804-343-5733.
