Oregon recently received approval for a Medicaid Demonstration Wavier. The agreement will provide $1.1 billion in new federal funding, expanded health coverage of continuous enrollment for kids under the age of six and support for other vulnerable groups. Some of the key updates on the housing front include:

  • Rental assistance or temporary housing for up to six months;
  • Home modifications;
  • Pre-tenancy and tenancy support services; and
  • Housing-focused navigation and/or case management.

Oregon Health Plan (OHP) operates the state’s Medicaid program, which delivers care to people who have low incomes. Every five years, states can propose additions or changes with a waiver application, which must be approved by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Oregon Health Authority posted their materials related to the 2022-2027 1115 Medicaid Demonstration Waiver.
