The National Park Service (NPS) recently released its Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 Annual Report for the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentives Program, administered in partnership with State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs). Over FY 2013, 1,155 projects were approved worth an estimated $6.73 billion in investment. This includes 803 completed projects, $3.39 billion in rehabilitation work certi?ed, and 62,923 jobs created. More than 40 percent of completed projects paired the federal credit with a state historic tax credit.  In addition, 25,121 new or renovated housing units were approved using historic tax credits, including 7,097 new low and moderate income housing units.
