Laura Brudzynski serves as the Chief Housing Officer and Executive Director of the Department of Housing Stability for the City and County of Denver. As Chief Housing Officer, Laura oversees the City’s efforts to build a healthy, housed, and connected Denver by investing resources, creating policy, and partnering with organizations to keep people in the homes they already live in, to quickly resolve an experience of homelessness, and to connect people to affordable housing opportunities. The Department of Housing Stability, or HOST, has a budget of over $250M for housing and homelessness that in 2023 is expected to fund more than 1,700 affordable homes, serve over 8,000 households with stability services, and support over 2,500 households with supportive housing and rehousing programs. During nearly a decade with the City of Denver, Laura has helped growth the HOST team to more than 130 positions, create and then double Denver’s local affordable housing fund to over $30M annually, and partner with the Denver Housing Authority to issue nearly $130M in bonds to develop more than 2,500 affordable units more quickly. Laura has master’s degrees in both Public Administration and Urban and Regional Planning.
