The Office of Policy, Development and Research (PDR) at HUD released its biennial Worst Case Housing Needs report to Congress, shedding light on the critical problems facing low-income renting families.

HUD issued a notice announcing the FY 2026 Annual Adjustment Factors (AAFs) for monthly rental payment adjustments for units covered by Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contracts. The updated AAFs are effective December 9, 2025.

On November 18, 2025, HUD’s Office of Public and Indian Housing issued updated reporting and submission guidance revising Notices PIH 2022-10 and PIH 2022-38/FPM-19-2022 on implementing Section 3 regulations (24 CFR Part 75), clarifying that the update does not apply to housing and community development programs covered under Subpart C.
