CEFAH Legislation Assigned Number; To Be Introduced This Week

Representative Mary Jo Kilroy (D-OH) will introduce legislation (HR 4099) this week to facilitate retrofitting of HUD assisted properties. NH&RA’s Council For Energy Friendly Affordable Housing (CEFAH) has been working with Representative Kilroy, a junior member of the majority on the House Financial Services Committee, to draft this important bill.

Goldman Sachs & Berkshire Hathaway Bid to Buy LIHTC from Fannie Mae

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. has joined Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in the investment bank’s bid to buy $3 billion in tax credits Fannie Mae. The Journal is also reporting that the Treasury Department is considering blocking any potential sale.
