The Michigan State Housing Development Authority posted Notices of Funding Availability (NOFAs) for its the HOME/Mortgage Resource Fund (MRF) Gap Financing Program and the National Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Gap Financing Program. For the HOME/MRF NOFA, $9 million in funding is available and applications are due Aug. 15, 2019. For the HTF NOFA, $4.8 million in funding is available and applications are due Oct. 15, 2019.
The Arizona Department of Housing published a Notice of Funding Available (NOFA) that solicits applications from local governments, non-profits or for-profit entities for owner occupied housing rehabilitation activities. Approximately $3.5 million in HOME funding is available through this NOFA and applications are due by 4 pm MST on Aug. 30, 2019.

These documents govern the allocation of four funding sources: the Low Income Housing Tax Credit; the HOME Investment Partnership Act; the National Housing Trust Fund; and the Senior Citizens Housing Development Fund.
HUD published a notice of proposed changes for estimation of Fair Market Rents (FMRs) in the Federal Register. In response to frequent comments on the need for more local and timely data, HUD is considering updating its FMR methodology to include Trend Factor Changes and to use neighboring zip codes in place of county-based Small Area FMRs.
HUD posted new closing checklists for use with the recently revised FHA closing documents. The new checklists include non-substantive changes to the layout, re-ordering of certain items, removal of items that have been added to other form documents, and a new checklist for the “Heavy” 223(f) closings.
