The National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) recently released its Affordable 100 which ranks the largest affordable multifamily property management companies, ranked by affordable unit counts. In an effort to accurately determine the portfolio of affordable units receiving federal subsidy in the United States, NAHMA publishes this annual listing of affordable units containing at least one of the following federal subsidies: HUD Project-based Assistance, Section 42 LIHTC, HOME funds, USDA Section 515, or Bonds.Â
HUD recently released the FY2013 NOFA for Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants on the Grants.gov website. HUD will make approximately $109 million in grants to revitalize public and HUD-assisted housing and transform communities. Individual grant awards may be for up to a maximum of $30,000,000.

HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing recently issued a memo providing guidance for processing requests by mortgagees to reduce the interest rate on an insure mortgage loans and to clarify HUD’s processing procedures to reduce the interest rate and re-amortize the loan.
