The West Virginia Housing Development Fund (WVHDF) will soon update the 2019 and 2020 QAP to the new 2021 and 2022 QAP. In preparation of the update WVHDF is requesting submissions the top three changes/suggestions for the Fund to consider when drafting the new QAP and the 2021 and 2022 Tax Credit Manual.

The West Virginia Housing Development Fund (the Fund) released an administrative waiver, which applies to all properties that have received or will receive credits from the 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020 State Housing Credit Ceiling. Under the administrative waiver, a ceiling fan with specifications that fulfill the requirements of Energy Star Program Requirements Product Specification for Residential Ceiling Fans Version 3.0 (effective October 1, 2011), with an integrated LED light fixture/module will be installed in each bedroom and the living room will be allowed as an alternative to the requirement.

The West Virginia Housing Development Fund will hold a 2020 LIHTC Application Workshop on March 24 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in South Charleston, WV.

HUD opened registration for its new National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) Demonstration. NH&RA encourages all eligible PHAs, owners and agents to participate in the NSPIRE demonstration. Properties will be given an advisory NSPIRE score and the most recent UPCS score will remain on the books. NSPIRE demonstration participants will have the opportunity to shape the new REAC inspection protocol and to prepare in advance of the mandatory changes.

The West Virginia Housing Development Fund released the 2019 LIHTC set-aside categories and amounts. Fifteen percent of the per capita portion of the State Housing Credit Ceiling for 2019 is $746,895. Please refer to the Limitations on Amount of Property Allocation subsection (pages 35 and 36) of the LIHTC Manual.

Registration is now open for the 2019 West Virginia Housing Development Fund (WVHDF) LIHTC Application Workshop. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at the Holiday Inn & Suites, South Charleston, WV. WVHDF awards up to 30 points in the Qualified Allocation Plan for attending the Application Workshops.
