Maryland Allocates $40 Million to Assisted Housing Relief Program

The Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) set aside $40 million to relaunch the Assisted Housing Relief Program (AHRP), which serves rental units in multifamily projects financed by DHCD’s Community Development Administration using state funds and other federal resources.

The Ohio Housing Finance Agency updated its HOME frequently asked questions document to include all Housing Development Assistance Programs (HDAP): Ohio Housing Trust Fund, National Housing Trust Fund and HOME. Questions have been updated regarding rent limits, utility allowances, student rules and more.

QAP Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Extends Closing Deadline to Sept. 30

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency is extending the closing deadline for Program Year 2020 developments due to the COVID-related construction pricing increases and delays from July 31 until September 30, 2021. This extension is available for all Program Year 2020 developments that applied in the 2020 application round and continue to hold a valid allocation of 2020 credits or conditional forward commitment of 2021 credits subject to 2020 Program Year deadlines.

Vermont RFP Seeking Consultant on Racial Justice and Equity on Housing

The Vermont Housing & Conservation Board issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) regarding the design and launch of a statewide initiative to address racial justice and equity in housing. The initiative will be guided by a steering committee comprised of representatives from NeighborWorks Alliance of Vermont, NeighborWorks America, the Vermont Housing Finance Agency and other to-be-identified stakeholders.

Wisconsin Opens 2021 Housing Grant Cycle

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority is accepting applications from organizations that provide emergency shelter, transitional residences and extremely low-income housing. Grants of up to $50,000 are available in two categories, emergency/transitional housing and permanent housing.

Standard Companies Converts 143-Unit Conventional Multifamily Housing into Affordable

The California Statewide Communities Development Authority (CSCDA) has acquired The Link apartments in Glendale. The acquisition was a public-private collaboration among Standard Communities, CSCDA’s Community Improvement Authority, Stifel Nicolaus & Company, Faring and the city of Glendale.
